Arrojamento representa qualquer mamífero marinho e/ou tartaruga marinha que é encontrado morto a flutuar no mar ou encalhado na orla costeira. Representa também qualquer mamífero marinho e/ou tartaruga marinha encontrado fora do seu habitat natural e manifeste sinais de desconforto, ferimentos, doença ou desorientação, estando ou não privado, total ou parcialmente, de meios de locomoção.

Stranding is an event where a marine animal comes ashore or near the shore. Include an event in the wild where a marine mammal or sea turtle is found dead on the beach or shore or floating; when a marine mammal or sea turtle is alive on the beach or shore, but unable to return to the water due to sickness or injury or some other obstacle and when a marine mammal or sea turtle is in the water, but is unable to return to its natural habitat without assistance.
